My friend who is Sri Lankan, had always used coconut oil in his childhood home. He said that rather than eating coconut oil on its own as a medicine, he uses it in his daily cooking and finds it very flavoursome, as well as very therapeutic. For example, cooking fish in coconut oil gives it lovely flavour; using coconut oil when making toasted muesli; using coconut oil instead of olive oil.
